in my corner

when i walk home from the bus-stop, i have to walk about 200 metres before i reach my block.. along the way, i've to cross these sections of the path that looks like this:

i will post a picture.

and i always have to be extra careful here cos my heels may go in the holes so i'll walk squarely on the cemented part. & i always remember someone holding my hand and guiding me, making sure i don't fall. almost every single time, when i look down to guide myself, i still think of him. not so much at the lift anymore tho.

sigh and today raining somemore. i hate wet floors. i'm afraid of falling. i think it's not HIS hand that i wanna hold, i just wanna hold someone's hand. sigh. but I'll just tell myself that God is always there!

sappy post today =P

PB!

told myself that i will blog about this before i forget all the details or if my memory one day fail me. lol. anyway, back in july i blogged about my busy-ness with the board meeting and how i was looking forward to PB visiting again with his wife. My excitement started a few weeks back with the furore of activities began for the SAA 50th Anniversary while i prepared for the chief execs programme as well as facilitating his visit.

Now. I do like PB alot, you can call it a crush (ya, at my age!) or wadever, i don't really care. Bottomline is - I know he's married and yes, i gush about him and all but still, he.is.married. I am not harbouring any crazy thoughts so stop calling me SILLY or MAD. Please. Maybe sometimes a teeeny weeeeny overboard - I do apologise for that. I'm glad he has become more of a personal friend, the sort whom I'll invite to MY wedding (and im sure he'll come!). But before that happens, I will still gush about him. LOL.

This picture was taken at the Gala Dinner. I was dressed in an Indian gagra while regina was in a baju kurong. When I first tried the gagra, I could hardly breathe! My lungs were simply crushed in it. Amazingly it was alright during the dinner and I gamely wore it through-out the night. More photos to come. Ok back to PB.

The friday before the Gala I was still waiting for his flight details as I had to give this info to the kind pple at the meet and greet services. I finally got it on my office mobile via sms and when I replied thanks, he actually called me! *excited. He said I work tooo late, well, I left office at about 8ish. Had dinner with mdm and her daughter at a really nice peranakan office near the office. (Yum! That story another day.) We spoke for a few minutes and hung up. Collated the information forwarded it on to the company. Lol I was quite high after that.

Actually during the Gala Dinner, I was really quite nervous cos I was quite worried about changing into the gagra and worried about going up on stage to take part in the costume parade so i was really a bunch of nerves. i was also quite self conscious cos i look so big in the gagra. the costume belonged to jasmin who's like really petite so it's amazing how i could squeeze into it.

I was even more nervous when I found out that I was the last to go up the stage. I was soooooooooooooooooo freaking nervous! Even PB knew it, he said whenever he took a look at me across the table, he said that i looked like a bag of nerves. Hahaha.. When I was up on stage, I walked super fast cos I was really scared and I didn't even notice that the emcee asked me to stop and dance with one of the indian participant. Lol and I walked back to the end of the line. When I looked over, he was dancing happily by himself. =) Regina later told me that when I was up on stage, PB had this huge smile on his face and I saw him taking pictures with his camera. She also complained that Ralph (one of our long-time instructors) didn't even look at her but I bet it's cos he's really nervous cos he was going to receive the Fellows award.

The Gala ended with a big bang and the launch of the 50th Anniversary Book. I talked to PB after the dinner for a while and we took a picture together. I'm looking forward to receiving that but he's really busy at work so I'm predict he would forget all about it. I then asked if he would be free the following night and if he would like me to bring him ard. He was free and we made an appointment.

The following day PB came in the morning to deliver a lecture and the group proceeded for lunch at T2. I came back to SAA with the participants for 2 more lectures before they headed back. It was pouring towards the end of the day but thank God Eudora's parents gave me a lift to town and I was able to reach Conrad in time. I was planning to bring him for some sushi @ sushi tei or ichiban then walk to Liang Seah for my favourite dessert. Cos' of the rain and by a twist of events, I changed my initial plans and we managed to travel to Casuarina for prata! LOL. So I decided to re-trace the route YF took a few weeks back, first prata then ice-cream @ island creamery. One thing I absolutely regret is - I didn't take any picture with PB! Even though the new digital camera and memory card were in my bag but too late for regrets anyway.

PB is rather adventurous with food. I ordered a paper prata, egg thosai and prata with cheese and mushroom for the both of us. He also gamely tried su su alia! He said it tasted weird at first but he liked the warm feeling in the stomach. We headed to Island Creamery later and we entered through the back door where there were alot of pictures. I told him that my picture may be somewhere around here and he took a long time staring at every picture trying to find my face. LOL. He enjoyed the food and the ice-cream. We chatted alot that day and it was a good time of catching up. =) I think the night really tire him out as he was yawning a lil towards the end, felt quite bad =P He's a very genuine, witty and down-to-earth person and gr8 to hang out with, can't wait for him to be back again!

Well, really thank God for seeing me through these few weeks, He is indeed amazing. I was feeling really lousy just the week before but He helped me to go through this week and everything else.. including how Regina helped to put in my contact lens and how I took it out with one try @ home. =)
